Andy Burns' Tenth Inning Walk off Gives Fisher Cats 9-7 Win over Trenton

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Andy Burns knocked a two-run walk-off homer in the bottom of the tenth to give the Fisher Cats(41-45) the 9-7 win over the Trenton Thunder (40-49) on Sunday afternoon at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.

New Hampshire took an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first off of a fielder's choice and a single from Kevin Nolan. Nolan went 4-5 on the night with 3 RBI. Trenton answered quickly with a pair of runs in the top of the second and tacked on three more in the top of the third.

Burns led off the bottom of the third with a triple to left field and scored on a missed catch by the third baseman, Rob Segedin. The next at bat McDade solo homered to left field making the score 5-4 Trenton. The score stayed the same until the seventh inning.

Trenton scored two first, followed by the Fisher Cats. Nolan drove in Burns and McDade off a hard hit line drive to centerfield, 7-6 Trenton. In the bottom of the eighth the Fisher Cats tied it up on a fielding error that forced the game into extra innings.

Randy Boone (1-3) earned the win for the Fisher Cats pitching the final two innings with one hit and two strikeouts. Scott Copeland started the game and pitched three innings. He gave up five runs off of eight hits and struck out four.

The Fisher Cats take the series 2-0 over the Trenton Thunder. The Fisher Cats now open a five-game series with New Britain beginning with a doubleheader at 6:05 p.m. on Monday night.
