San Antonio Stars News Release
SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio Silver Stars Center Chantelle Anderson underwent surgery to repair a torn Achilles tendon early Monday morning in Istanbul, Turkey.
The surgery went well, according to Anderson who spoke with team officials late Monday. The six-foot-six center traveled to Turkey to play for Istanbul's Galatasaray in late January after recovering from a broken patella (kneecap).
During the 2006 WNBA season, Anderson started 20 games for San Antonio and appeared in 23. She averaged 6.7 points and 3.7 rebounds per game and scored 17 points in a July 18 win over Houston before fracturing her kneecap on July 21 against the Washington Mystics.
