Saint John Riptide News Release

(Saint John, NB): The Mill Rats came into tonight's game on mission to snap a recent 4-game losing streak, as they started a 4-game road trip. Anthony Anderson drilled 6 three pointers virtually in a row in the third quarter to break open a tight game, and propel the Mill Rats to 119-111 win.

"What can you say about Double A? He's the Steph Curry of the NBL Canada," said Mill Rats Head Coach Rob Spon. "We still need to work on some things, but I liked how the guys came out and competed. But it sure is nice to have a great player put his team on his back for a quarter and lift us up."

The first half ended up with Saint John holding the narrowest of margins at 49-48. The game was just 67-65 all before Anderson's barrage began, and when we was done the Mill Rats were ahead 88-73. The Mill Rats built that into a 93-75 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

In the fourth, the lead extended as large as 22 before the home team mounted a rally, cutting the deficit to as close as 9 before time expired.

Anderson ended the night with 42 points on 14-21 from the field, Doug Herring Jr and Gabe Freeman added 15 each, and Johnny Mayhane scored 13. James Justice led Moncton with 15 points.

The Mill Rats improve to 15-10 on the season while the Miracles fall to 12-15

The Mill Rats second game on the road sees them face Charlottetown into a rematch against the Island Storm since Sunday's debacle at Harbour Station. Then on Saturday and Sunday the Mill Rats head to Orangeville and Windsor before returning home to face the Moncton Miracles at home on March 23rd.

Single game, flex, and prorated season tickets are on sale at the Harbour Station Box Office or by calling 506-657-1234 or by visiting www.harbourstation.ca
