London Lightning News Release
(LONDON, Ontario) - The London Lightning have added veteran guard Akeem Scott to the team in time for Tuesday night's NBLC trade and transactions deadline.
Scott played college basketball at High Point University in North Carolina.
His career includes a stint in the NBA D-League with the Bakersfield Jam as well as playing in the NBLC.
Last season with the Brampton A's, Scott averaged 14 points and five assists per game, while shooting 47 per cent from the field in 41 games.
More recently he has been playing in Chile.
"Akeem Scott is a special player that plays with an incredible amount of passion and energy," said coach Kyle Julius. "I coached against him all last season and was always impressed with the way he played. His resume is second to none and he is excited to come and help us work through these injuries and get back on track."
Scott is the final addition to the Lightning for the 2016 season and will arrive in London early next week.
Nick Okorie will be placed on injured reserve due to an ongoing foot injury.
