
Anaheim Storm Fall to Bandits in Buffalo

Anaheim, CA (February 14, 2004) â The Anaheim Storm (0-5) played their first away game tonight against the Buffalo Bandits (6-2). This was the second time the two teams had met in the 2003-2004 regular season; Buffalo beat the Storm 16-12, on January 18th in Anaheim. Head Coach of the Storm, Patrick McCabe, had hoped to even the score with the Bandits but Anaheim was unable to fight off the Eastern Division leaders.
Scoring from Roy Colsey (3G), Michael Law (2G, 2A) and Chris Seller (2G) could not stop the Bandits' momentum; they took the win from the Storm, 13-11. Also scoring for the Storm was Brian O'Keefe, Scott Stewart, Teddy Jenner and Chris Panos with one goal apiece. Matt Disher was in the goal for Anaheim, he had 43 saves.
The Bandits saw big numbers from John Tavares and Jonas Derks who each scored three goals and three assists.
The road games continue for the Storm next Saturday, February 21st, when they take on Arizona (3-4). The Sting beat the Storm in triple overtime (19-18) on January 10th in Anaheim making it the longest game in National Lacrosse League history. The Storm have lost three of their five games this season by just one point.
The Storm return home on February 27th when they take on the Colorado Mammoth.
