Amerks Raise $8,580 In Pink Jersey Auction

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today that the team has raised $8,580 in total proceeds for Breast Cancer research in its pink jersey auction.

The auction was conducted during last night's Amerks game against the Lake Erie Monsters. The players donned the special pink jerseys for the occasion and the ice surface was at The Blue Cross Arena was even painted pink in honor of the night.

The jerseys of goaltender Mike Brodeur and newcomer Matt Duffy were among the most popular, as each jersey was auctioned off for substantial amounts. Brodeur's jersey flew off the table with a $551 purchase, while Duffy's jersey was second to go with a $548 buy.

The Amerks hit the road tonight for their final stop of the season at Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena to take on the Binghamton Senators. The 7:35 p.m. non-divisional matchup will be the first of two back-to-back tilts and the seventh of eight meetings between the two teams this season. The Amerks are 0-3-0-0- on the road against the B-Sens this season and currently trail in the season series with a 2-4-0-0 record. Rochester is 21-27-4 lifetime against Binghamton.
