Rochester, NY - The Rochester Americans announced today that John Wroblewski has been named as an assistant coach for the Amerks. Wroblewski joins fellow assistant coach Chris Taylor and goaltending coach Bob Janosz on Head Coach Chadd Cassidy's staff.

Wroblewski joins the Amerks after spending the last two seasons as head coach of the ECHL's Gwinnett Gladiators, where he compiled a record of 84-46-9-5 while leading the Gladiators to a pair of South Division titles and posting the highest points-percentage in the Eastern Conference during that span. Prior to joining the Gladiators, he spent the 2010-11 season as assistant coach with the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL), helping guide the team to the Eastern Conference Finals.

A native of Neenah, Wisconsin, Wroblewski began his coaching career with the USA Hockey Under 18 National Team Development Program (NTDP) from 2007 to 2010. In 2010, he helped the NTDP capture the gold medal in Minsk, Belarus at the IIHF U-18 World Championship.

As a player, Wroblewski spent four seasons with the Fresno Falcons of the ECHL, recording 125 points (65+60) in 273 career games. Prior to his professional career, he played four seasons with the University of Notre Dame (1999-2003) where he was a two-time team captain and was named MVP by his teammates in 2003. In four years at Notre Dame, Wroblewski recorded 64 points (29+35) in 144 career collegiate games. He was a finalist for college hockey's Humanitarian Award.
