Amerks.Com to Again Host Weekly Summer Player Profiles

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today that for the third straight summer, Amerks.com will again feature weekly summer player profiles. The profiles are scheduled to begin on Friday, June 11th, featuring defenseman Mike Caruso, and will continue to highlight a different Amerks player Friday of each week.

The weekly online segment will allow fans to stay better connected with some of their favorite players and see how they spend their summer months during the offseason. Fans can learn about the players favorite moments from this past season, see what they enjoy most about playing in Rochester and even where they can be found vacationing this summer. Make sure to check Amerks.com and the Amerks' Facebook page each week to stay up-to-date with your favorite players.

The two oldest teams in the American Hockey League will usher in the 2010-11 season as the Rochester Americans and the Hershey Bears participate in the historic kick off to the AHL's 75th anniversary season. The Amerks will open their 55th season against their longtime rival on Sunday, October 10th at The Blue Cross Arena.

Rochester will also travel to Hershey to play the Bears on Saturday, October 16th. The games are part of a special set of home-and-home series featuring the AHL's six senior-most cities. The league's 75th season will kick off on October 8th. All of the teams will wear throwback uniforms that will hark back to the earliest days of the AHL.
