Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, defeated the Rapid City Rush for the second straight night. Tonight's win came in overtime by a score of 3-2 at the Allen Event Center.

Eric Roy scored the first goal of the night for the Americans to put them up 1-0 at 1:24 of the second period. Spencer Asuchak and Zach Pochiro assisted. Rapid City would answer quickly with a goal scored by Kenton Miller to tie the game 1-1 at 3:31 of the second period. However, Alex Guptill would get the second goal of the night and give the Americans the lead heading into the 3rd Period. David Makowski and Joel Chouinard assisted the goal.

The Americans handled some major adversity in the 3rd period. Rapid City would tie the game with a goal by Anthony Collins. Then, Dalton Thrower was sent to the dressing room for a ten-minute misconduct and the Americans couldn't manage to break the tie and the game would head to overtime, knotted at 2.

The Americans came out strong in overtime with a solid effort, managing to get off 5 shots, until Bryan Moore scored the winning goal to seal the two-game sweep of the Rush.

The Americans begin a six-game road trip next Wednesday night in Boise, Idaho. The next home game is against the Tulsa Oilers on Wednesday, March 21st.
