Laredo 8, Kansas City 1

The Laredo Lemurs got a strong complete game performance from their starter Leonard Giammanco as they handled the Kansas City T-Bones 8-1. Giammanco gave up just one run on four hits in the game and struck out four batters. The only run and two of the hits came in the first two at bats of the game for Kansas City but the right handed pitcher quickly turned things around and was nearly unhittable the rest of the way. The Lemurs blew the game open with a six run fourth inning that included a grand slam from SS Jimmy Mojica. The short stop, like four other Lemurs, had a pair of hits in the game. CF Stephen Douglas also homered in the game for the Lemurs.

Fargo-Moorhead 7, Rockland 3

The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks took control early and took care of the Rockland Boulders 7-3 in an inter-league contest. The RedHawks took the lead in the second inning on a RBI single form RF Jon Gaston in the second inning and wouldn't give up the lead from there. Gaston like DH Ryan Delgado had two RBI in the game. Fargo-Moorhead 3B Eric Campbell was 3-for-3 with an RBI and a pair of runs. The Boulders three runs came on six hits in the game, only CF Chris Valencia had more than one hit in the game. P Paul Burnside was tabbed as the winner for his 5.2 inning outing in which he didn't allow a run on three hits. Burnside walked six and struck out eight.

St. Paul 4, Winnipeg 1

The St. Paul Saints took solid nights from 1B Ole Sheldon and DH Willie Cabrera to topple the Winnipeg Goldeyes 4-1. Cabrera and Sheldon, batting third and fourth in order, both went 3-for-5 and both hit solo home runs in the ball game. For Cabrera it was his ninth of the year while it was Sheldon's nineteenth. The Goldeye's only run came in the bottom of the ninth inning on a single from LF Kyle Day. Day was 2-for-4 on the night. P Anthony Claggett picked up the win for the Saints for his six inning start. Claggett left the game without surrendering a run on five hits and also had five strikeouts.

Amarillo 8, Lincoln 7 (Final - 10 innings)

Amarillo Sox CF Harrison Kain scored 3B Van Pope with a single in the top of the tenth inning that put Sox on top of the Lincoln Saltdogs 8-7. Pope and SS Garrett Rau both had two hit games for the Sox but 1B Jonathan Cisneros lead the way at the plate for Amarillo. Cisneros was 3-for-4, scored three times and had three RBI along with drawing a walk. Cisneros was also responsible for the Sox early three run lead with a home run in the top of the first inning. The Saltdogs took the lead in the third inning with a four-run rally that included a two-run home run form 1B/2B David Espinosa. Espinosa was 3-for-6 in the game and RF Mike Provencher also had three hits. DH Stephen Holdren had a game-high four hits and three RBI.

El Paso 9, Grand Prairie 9 (Suspended - 10 innings)

The El Paso Diablos and the Grand Prairie AirHogs were suspended after the ninth inning due to league curfew rules. The game which was tied at nine runs a piece, will resume Saturday at 5:05 p.m.

Wichita 6, Sioux City 5 (Final - 11 innings)

The Wichita Wingnuts walked off on the Sioux City Explorers with a single by 1B CJ Zeigler that to give the Wingnuts a 6-5 advantage. Zeigler was 2-for-6 but had a team-high three RBI thanks to a home run earlier in the game. Four other Wingnuts also had two hits including DH John Rodriguez who, like Zeigler, also homered in the game. For the Explorers, both 1B Jorge Delgado and 2B Mike Murphy had a pair of RBI. P Josh Dew picked up the win for working the two extra innings without giving up a hit and striking out three batters while walking just one. The Wingnuts trailed 5-2 after the fifth inning but score a single run three straight innings to tie the score in the eighth.

Gary SouthShore 5, Sioux Falls 4

Gary SouthShore fought back after giving up a four-run third inning to edge the Sioux Falls Pheasants. The RailCats put three runs on the board in the first inning to take the early lead. C Ryan Babineau tripled home two runs in to get things started and DH Brian Kolb knocked in the first of his three RBI with a sac fly later in the inning. Kolb also had another sacrifice fly later in the game and was walked with the bases loaded to have a team high three RBI on just one hit. For the Pheasants, LF Jared Bolden had a game-high three hits in four at bats. P Nolan Nicholson earned the win for his 2.2 innings of relief work in which he gave up just three hits, no runs and sat down three batters via the strikeout.
