W: Todd Androsko (1-0) L: Ryan Weems (2-2) S: NONE

HR: P-Larry Bethea (4), Ed Montague (2), Bo Brown (2)

Pensacola scored a run in the first and two more in the second and that would be all they would need, as they used 10 hits to power past Fort Worth 8-1. The Pelicans got home runs from DH Larry Bethea, LF Ed Montague and 2B Bo Brown en route to their 14th win of the season. Starting pitcher Todd Androsko got his first win of the year, thanks to six strong innings in which he allowed just one run on four hits and struck out four. The win for the Pelicans keeps them within striking distance of Coastal Bend for the South Division lead.

Shreveport 8, El Paso 6

@Shreveport, LA. Time: 2:35 Attendance: 1,381

W: Leo Tyson (2-0) L: David McWatters (0-3) S: Gerson Mercedes (3)

HR: EP-Logan Wood (1)

With the game locked at 2-2, Shreveport posted five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take charge versus El Paso. While the Diablos would post three of their own in the seventh, they weren't quite able to overcome the deficit. Both teams got plenty of offense, with Shreveport out-hitting El Paso 16-12, thanks to multi-hit games from six different players. Of those six, CF Coby Smith, 2B Neb Brown and 1B Justin Humphries each had three hits. El Paso 3B J.P. Schmidt chipped in three hits of his own for the Diablos and LF Logan Wood had two, including his first home run of the season, but it wasn't enough to keep pace with Shreveport, who held on late to preserve the win.

St. Joe starting pitcher Mark Nussbeck pitched seven strong innings, allowing just two runs - none of them earned - on three hits and struck out eight to notch his second win of the season. The Blacksnakes got all of the scoring they would need in the first and second innings, posting one and four, respectively, in each frame. Sioux Falls starter Peter Bauer pitched well in the loss. He allowed five runs - three earned - on nine hits through seven innings, walked two and struck out six. St. Joe CF Scooter Jordan was the offensive star of the game. The Blacksnakes' leadoff hitter certainly did his job, going 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBIs.

St. Paul 4, Lincoln 1

@ Lincoln, NE. Time: 2:20 Attendance: 2,967

W: Mike Meyer (3-2) L: Roger Lincoln (3-2) S: Matt Hammons (5)

HR: LN-Cory Harris (5)

St. Paul starting pitcher Mike Meyer allowed a run on eight hits through eight innings, struck out three and did not walk a batter en route to his third win of the season. Saints' DH Billy Cox was 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI, leading St. Paul over the Saltdogs to climb within three games of first place in the North Division. CF Cory Harris was 1-for-4 for Lincoln, including his fifth home run of the year in the loss. Only two of St. Paul's hitters that recorded an at bat in the game didn't manage to record a hit as the Saints scored once in the third and twice more in the fourth to build a lead that would never be threatened. Saltdogs' 1B Pichi Balet was 2-for-4 on the game. Coming into the game, Balet was already among the league leaders in hits with 33.
