SS Enohel Polanco went 0-for-3 at the plate for Shreveport, but hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth to score DH Chad Gambill and give the Sports a 2-1 win over El Paso. 3B Melvin Falu was responsible for the other Shreveport run as he went 2-for-3 with a homerun. Relief pitcher Mal Winters picked up the win after pitching three perfect innings to finish the game. El Paso starting pitcher Matt Parris pitched well despite getting the loss. Parris allowed only two runs over 7 2/3 innings.

El Paso @ Shreveport (Postponed)

The game was postponed due to rain and will be made up tomorrow, June 7, as part of a doubleheader. The first game will begin at 6:05 p.m. CT and both games will be scheduled for seven innings.

Pensacola 3, Fort Worth 2

Pensacola starting pitcher Clark Girardeau allowed only six hits and two runs over seven innings en route to his second win of the year and a 3-2 Pelicans victory. Relief pitcher Tony Pierce pitched a scoreless ninth inning to pick up his fourth save of the year. At the plate the Pelicans were led by RF Juan Rocha, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a homerun. Fort Worth OF Jordan Foster had three hits on the night to lead the Cats. 3B Terence Green also added a homerun in the losing cause.

Lincoln 8, St. Paul 4

HR: SP-Billy Cox (1); LN-Josh Patton (2)

Both teams had nine hits, but Lincoln produced eight runs to just four for St. Paul en route to its 19th win of the year. Starting pitcher Jeff Blitstein picked up the win for the Saltdogs, going 7 2/3 innings and allowing only three earned runs. 2B Josh Patton went 3-for-4 with four RBI and a homerun to lead Lincoln at the plate. 1B Pichi Balet continues to hit the ball, getting two more hits of his own in the game. DH Billy Cox homered and 3B Victor Rodriguez went 2-for-4 for the Saints despite the loss.

Sioux City 5, Coastal Bend 4

Sioux City 3B Ryan Gripp's two-out single in the bottom of the ninth scored 1B Dan Meier and lifted the Explorers past Coastal Bend, 5-4. The single was Gripp's third hit of the game. LF Jorge Moreno also added two hits of his own for the Explorers. Relief pitcher Sean Kramer pitched a scoreless top of the ninth to get the win. Despite his team losing, Coastal Bend starting pitcher Ricky Stover was impressive going six innings and only allowing two runs on five hits.
