The Fort Worth Cats rallied from an early 3-0 deficit to defeat the St. Joe Blacksnakes in front of a near capacity school day crowd at Phil Welch Stadium of 3,468. St. Joe would get that early 3-0 lead in the second inning on RBI singles by 3B Denver Fitch and C Jefferson Infante, and a sacrifice fly by SS Jimmy Mojica. Fort Worth cut the lead in the fourth inning to 3-1 on a RBI double by RF Drew Rogers. The Cats took the lead for good with four runs in the sixth inning and two more runs in the seventh inning. LF Tony Mota, CF Carlos Adolfo, and 2B David Keesee each had two hits on the day for the Cats. Joel Kirsten pitched four shutout innings to pick up the save for Fort Worth.

DH Justin Schuda's three-run home run in the tenth inning lifts the Canaries past the Saints in a dramatic come from behind victory in the completion of the suspended game from yesterday. Schuda and 1B Abner Arroyo were the offense for Sioux Falls as they combined to go 5-for-9 with four runs scored and driving in eight of their nine runs. Canaries' reliever Lenny Bays picked up the win tonight pitching 1 2/3 innings of shutout baseball. The Saints were led by 2B Pat Scalabrini, who was 4-for-5 with a run scored, and SS Josh Renick who was 2-for-5 with a run scored and two runs driven in.

St. Paul 4, Sioux Falls 0 (Game 2)

St. Paul starting pitcher Justin Lord threw six strong shutout innings giving up only two hits and striking out seven to help the Saints gain a win and a split in the doubleheader. St. Paul would score two runs in the third on a RBI single by 2B Pat Scalabrini and a sacrifice fly by 3B Victor Rodriguez. The Saints scored their other two runs in the seventh inning on a wild pitch and a sacrifice fly by LF Brian Sprout. Canaries' starting pitcher Doug Johnson picked up his third loss of the season going 5 2/3 innings allowing two runs on two hits with two strikeouts.

Pensacola 11, El Paso 0

Pensacola for the second straight night had a tremendous night at the plate scoring 11 runs on 17 hits en route to their fifth victory in a row. Pelicans 1B Tim Dorn went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a RBI while 3B Trino Aguilar had a 4-for-5 outing with one run scored and a RBI. Pelican pitchers Russell Begnaud, Charles O'Neal, and Tony Pierce combined on a seven hit shutout of the Diablos. Jason Weidmeyer had a tough outing for El Paso going 5 2/3 innings giving up 9 runs on 14 hits for his first loss of the season.

Shreveport 3, Coastal Bend 2

Cody Smith, who went 2-for-5 on the night, singled home the go ahead run in the seventh inning to lead the Sports past the Aviators and snap a five game losing streak. Coastal Bend would score both of their runs in the first on a solo home run by CF Andy Wilson and a RBI single by C Stephen Morales. Shreveport cut the lead to 2-1 in the second inning on a fielder's choice by SS Enohel Polanco. Shreveport would tie it at 2-2 in the third inning on LF Al Corbeil's RBI single. It would stay tied at 2-2 until Smith got the RBI single in the seventh to give the Sports the lead for good. Sports' starting pitcher Eric Wikstrom got his first win going six innings giving up only two runs on five hits.

Lincoln 8, Sioux City 6

3B Jay Yaconetti went 2-for-3 with three runs scored along with DH Brett Cooley hitting his fourth home run of the season to lead the Saltdogs past the Explorers. Lincoln pounded out 14 hits and would at least put one run on the board in each of the first five innings. Saltdogs' starting pitcher Ben Fox picked up his third win of the year going 5 2/3 innings giving up only two earned runs on five hits while striking out two. 1B Dan Meier and C Chris Grossman each had 2-for-4 nights for the Explorers.
