Shreveport-Bossier 7, Pensacola 6
Pensacola claimed a three-run lead and needed only six outs to complete a stunning come-from-behind effort after dropping their first two games with Shreveport-Bossier, but the Captains tied it in the eighth and walked off with the win in the ninth for a 7-6 victory. 2B Jorge Alvarez (pictured) drove in the winning run, lofting a sacrifice fly to right center to score the winning run. CF Jovanny Roasrio launched a three-run home run in the second inning after Pensacola jumped out to an early 2-0 lead. A Javier Brito single in the top of the seventh tied the game at three, and Pensacola added three more in the eighth on Adolfo Gonzalez's bases-loaded double to jump to a 6-3 lead. However, the bullpen couldn't hold it as Shreveport-Bossier took the deciding game of the best-of-five series. The Captains will host the Sioux Falls Pheasants for Game 1 of the American Association Championship Series on Tuesday, September 7 at 7:05 PM CST.
