Sioux City starting pitcher Cameron Cheek held the Diablos to one unearned run on six hits in seven strong innings. With the win, Cheek improves to 4-0 on the year. Closer Matt Wilkinson picked up his ninth save despite allowing three hits in the ninth. El Paso starter Greg Wiltshire had a good outing, but suffered the hard-luck loss. Coastal Bend 4, Shreveport 3

@ Robstown, TX. Time: 2:20 Attendance: 1,892

W: Tim Haines (4-5) L: Brandon Hudson (1-2) S: None

HR: None

With two men on and two out in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Coastal Bend Aviators made an improbable rally to stun Shreveport and escape with a 4-3 victory in front of their home crowd. The rally spoiled an otherwise splendid outing from Sports starting pitcher Colby Miller, who recorded one out in the ninth before allowing back-to-back walks. Miller allowed only two hits in the game, but got a no decision when reliever Brandon Hudson allowed the inherited runners to score. Aviators reliever Tim Haines picked up his fourth win of the season after tossing a shutout inning.
