Sioux Falls rolled out to a 9-0 lead through four innings and cruised to an eight-run win over St. Paul. The Canaries plated 11 runs on 13 hits with everyone in the batting order getting a least a hit and scoring a run. The leaders for Sioux Falls were 1B Abner Arroyo and DH Will Smith who were each 2-for-4 and scored two runs. Sioux Falls starting pitcher Pat Mahomes remained perfect on the season at 5-0 by going six innings allowing three runs, only one earned, on seven hits with seven strikeouts. For the Saints in the losing cause, CF Scooter Jordan and 3B Ryan Gripp each collected two hits in four at-bats.

Sioux City 8, Coastal Bend 7

Sioux City scored the game winning run off of two Coastal Bend errors in the bottom of the ninth inning and take two out of three in the series. 3B Jake Daubert and RF Pete Pirman each got two hits on the night with both scoring a run. CF Jason Tuttle also chipped in with a 1-for-4 night and scored two runs, one of which was the game winning run. Explorers closer Rory James won his first game of the season going 1 1/3 innings giving up two hits and striking out one Aviators batter. Coastal Bend 3B JD Foust went a perfect 5-for-5 with a run scored, two RBI and three stolen bases.

St. Joe 8, Lincoln 4

DH Jake Whitesides was the star of stars tonight for St. Joe as the Blacksnakes doubled up the Lincoln Saltdogs. Whitesides went a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs scored, two RBI and two triples. CF David Fowler, 2B/LF Andy Wilson and LF Paul Weichard each had two-hit nights as well for the Blacksnakes. Dustin Bolton runs his record to .500 at 1-1 by pitching eight efficient innings allowing four runs, all earned, on nine hits with three strikeouts. SS Tony Garcia went 3-for-4 with two runs scored for the Saltdogs.

Fort Worth picked up their 14th win of the season with a 16-0 rout of the Diablos. The Cats jumped out to an 8-0 lead through the first two innings and would never look back. Fort Worth had 13 hits on the night with eight of the nine hitters getting at least one. SS Marc Mirizzi and 1B Charles Carter went a combined 4-for-8 with six runs scored and four RBI. Cats starter Cory Walters pitched six shutout innings with three strikeouts to notch his third win of the year. Fort Worth now stands only 2 ½ games behind first place El Paso in the South Division.

Pensacola 14, Shreveport 8

Pensacola and Shreveport go at it in a true slugfest with the Pelicans winning by six runs. The two teams combined tonight for 22 runs on 27 hits. Pelicans 3B Trino Aguilar went 2-for-5 with three runs scored and a RBI while RF JD Reininger had a 2-for-3 night with two runs scored and three RBI. Reininger also blasted his third home run of the season for Pensacola. Todd Androsko collects the victory for Pensacola hurling six solid innings allowing four hits and striking out six Sports batters. He is now 3-2 on the season. 1B Justin Humphries went 3-for-5 with a run scored and a RBI for Shreveport, who stay 1 ½ games behind El Paso for first place.
