Fort Worth used an impressive offensive effort to improve to .500 overall with a win against Pensacola in Game one of a doubleheader. The Cats reeled off 10 hits in the game, led by C Kelley Gulledge who was 3-for-3. CF Alan Moye came through in the clutch, going 2-for-4 and driving in four. Fort Worth's pitching combination of starter Lee Gwaltney and reliever Beau Hintz combined to hold the Pelicans to just three hits and one run while striking out eight.

Fort Worth completed a sweep of Pensacola in a doubleheader on Monday thanks to plenty of offense. SS Marc Mirizzi led the way at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBI. CF Alan Moye and DH John Allen also homered for the Cats behind a good outing from starting pitcher Aaron Marsden. Marsden allowed four runs and struck out six through five innings, which was enough to secure his first win of the year and improve his mark to 1-2. Pensacola RF J.D. Reininger was 1-for-3 with a home run and four RBI in the losing effort.

Sioux City 6, Sioux Falls 1

The Sioux City Explorers used a great outing from starting pitcher Ty Marotz to help them to their seventh win of the season. Marotz allowed just one run on five hits and struck out six through eight innings to improve his record to 2-2 on the year. At the plate for the Explorers SS Nick McCoola and RF Dustin Jones led the way. McCoola was 3-for-5 with a run scored and two RBI and Jones was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI of his own. Canaries' DH Will Smith was 1-for-4, including his fifth homer of the year, to lead Sioux Falls in the losing effort.

El Paso 5, Shreveport 4 (10 innings)

El Paso got just enough to slide past Shreveport with a run in the top of the tenth to improve to 15-7 on the year. Ned Darley notched his third win of the year thanks to two scoreless innings of relief, raising his record to 3-0. The Diablos tallied 11 of the game's 20 hits, led by C Mathew Kent, who was 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI. Shreveport LF J.P. Schmidt was 1-for-5 with a run scored and two RBI and hit his first home run of the year in the loss.

St. Joe 6, Coastal Bend 5

The St. Joe Blacksnakes used a four-run fifth inning to take the lead by a run and never looked back as they edged Coastal Bend at home. Starting pitcher Alec Sheppard improved to 3-1 after turning in seven efficient innings in which he allowed four runs on eight hits and struck out five. Blacksnakes' 2B Andy Wilson led the way at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a run and three RBI. St. Joe reliever Tim Vasquez came on to finish things off in the ninth and picked up his third save of the season.
