El Paso starting pitcher Charles O'Neal picked up his second win Thursday with a six-inning five-hit performance in which he surrendered two Pelicans runs while striking out four. Diablos 1B Walter Olmstead had a solid night at the plate, going 2-for-5 with a homerun, two RBI and two runs scored. El Paso closer Ned Darley earned his third save of the season, trailing only Sioux Falls Jerrod Fuell, who has five, in that category. For the Pelicans 3B Trino Aguilar homered in a two-hit one-RBI night at the plate.

Lincoln 11, St. Joe 3

After three innings the Saltdogs trailed St. Joe 1-0 thanks to a St. Joe 1B Dustin Yount homerun. But Lincoln picked up nine runs in the middle three innings to take a commanding 9-2 lead. In the sixth, Saltdogs 1B Brett Cooley matched Yount with his third homerun of the season. Cooley went 2-for-5 on the night with two RBI. Lincoln starting pitcher Josh Kauten brought his record to 2-0 with a seven-inning four-hit performance in which he allowed two runs and struck out an impressive seven Blacksnakes batters. On the evening nine out of ten Saltdogs reached first base with hits.

Sioux City 10, St. Paul 9

Three different Sioux City Explorers hit homeruns Thursday and the Explorers needed every one of them to take down St. Paul. Trailing 9-2 entering the bottom of the sixth, the Explorers exploded for eight runs to take a one-run lead. The Explorers bullpen held onto that lead with a solid 3.2 innings pitched by Jon Koch, Mike Nunes and Rory James. James, who picked up his first save of the year, surrendered the bullpen's only hit of the evening. James and Nunes also each struck out two batters for the Explorers. For the Saints, CF Scooter Jordan hit his first homerun of the season on a 2-for-5 night with four RBI.

Coastal Bend 14, Shreveport 3

Coastal Bend scored early and often Thursday in its sixth win of the season. Already leading 3-2, the Aviators used eight hits while taking advantage of two Shreveport errors to score six runs in the fifth inning. Coastal Bend C Stephen Morales had a spectacular night, going 4-for-4 with three runs and four RBI, including a solo homerun in the second inning. Aviators 2B James Lofton joined Morales with four hits, going 4-for-6 with three runs and three RBI. Coastal Bend starting pitcher Pedro Flores earned his first win of the season with a five-inning three-hit performance with five strikeouts and two earned runs.

Fort Worth 7, Sioux Falls 4

The Fort Worth Cats earned their sixth win of the season thanks to good defense and pitching with Sioux Falls runners on base. Altogether the Canaries, who picked up 14 hits, left 13 runners on base with nine in scoring position. Fort Worth 2B Tim Wojick scored one run on a 2-for-3 night with one RBI. Fort Worth reliever Aaron Marsden picked up a three-inning save, allowing one run on two hits while striking out four. For Sioux Falls 2B Damon Lessler hit a tow-run homer in the sixth to punctuate a 2-for-3 night. Starting Fort Worth pitcher Danny Valentin remained undefeated at 2-0, pitching 5.1 innings while allowing three runs on nine hits with five strikeouts.
