1B Pichi Balet went 3-for-3 with an RBI and scored a run to lead Lincoln past Sioux City 5-3. RF Bryan Warner added a homerun and two RBI of his own to the Lincoln offensive attack. Relief pitcher Kyle Ruwe picked up the win to improve to 5-3 on the season and closer Jerrod Fuell pitched a perfect seventh inning to record his 11th save of the year. Sioux City DH Ryan Gripp went 2-for-4 with two RBI to lead the Explorers at the plate in the losing effort.

RF Bryan Warner's single in the bottom of the seventh inning drove in CF Evan Tartaglia and gave Lincoln a 5-4 victory over Sioux City to complete the doubleheader sweep. 2B Josh Patton hit a solo homerun in the second that started a four run inning for the Saltdogs. Relief pitcher Scott Vandermeer picked up his first win of the season with 1 1/3 scoreless innings of work. 2B Alex Llanos and 3B Ryan Gripp combined for three hits, two homeruns and two RBI to lead the losing Explorers at the plate.

Coastal Bend 3, Shreveport 2

3B Bryon Smith went 3-for-3 with a homerun, his fourth of the season, to lift Coastal Bend over Shreveport 3-2. C Stephen Morales added two hits and an RBI of his own to the Aviators attack. Relief pitcher Brandon Pello pitched 2 2/3 scoreless innings to pick up his second win of the season. Relief pitcher B.J. Litchfield was perfect in the ninth as he tallied his third save of the year. Despite taking the loss, Shreveport starting pitcher Ryan Snyder was effective, allowing just three runs over five innings of work.

St. Paul 5, Fort Worth 2

St. Paul scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning to break a 2-2 tie and take a 5-2 victory over Fort Worth. Four St. Paul batters combined for eight hits and four RBI to lead the Saints at the plate. CF Robert Fischer hit his fourth triple of the season in the game to add to the Saints attack. Relief pitcher Matt Pike pitched a scoreless eighth inning to get the win and improve to 2-2 on the season. Closer Matt Hammons notched his 14th save of the season with a perfect ninth. 2B Kip Harkrider went 2-for-4 with an RBI to lead the Cats in the losing effort.

Sioux Falls 5, St. Joe 3

@ Sioux Falls, SD. Time: 2:52 Attendance: 2,457

HR: SJ-Cody Nowlin (3); SF-Chad Hermansen 2(10,11)

Sioux Falls scored five runs in the first five innings and held on the beat St. Joe 5-3. LF Chad Hermansen went 3-for-4 with two homeruns and three RBI to lead the Canaries at the plate. The two homeruns pushed Hermansen's season total to 11. Starting pitcher Aaron Garrison allowed just two runs on four hits over 6 1/3 innings to pick up his fourth win of the season. Relief pitcher Lenny Bays got the last two outs of the game to record his second save of the year. C Mikaela Dworken went 2-for-4 with two RBI to lead St. Joe in the losing cause.

El Paso 8, Pensacola 3

1B Mike Harkins went 4-for-4 with a homerun and three RBI to power El Paso past Pensacola 8-3. The homerun was Harkins' first of the season. CF Kory Drew added to the El Paso attack with two hits and two RBI of his own. Starting pitcher Jose A. Garcia allowed just three runs on five hits over six innings of work to pick up the win, his first of the year. RF Juan Rocha went 1-for-3 and drove in two of the Pelicans' three runs in the losing effort.
