St. Joe stayed hot, getting their 13th victory in their last 15 games and moving to the .500 mark for the first time since May 13. The Blacksnakes were led by 1B Mark Burke, who was 3-for-4 with four RBI: an RBI single in the fourth inning, a two-run jack in the sixth and another RBI single in the eighth. St. Joe starter Mark Nussbeck was stellar, limiting the Saints to three hits in eight innings of work. St. Paul's only runs came in the eighth, on a RF Jeremy Frost RBI double and two RBI groundouts.

Pensacola got a decent performance from starter Todd Androsko and earned their second consecutive victory, defeating slumping Shreveport 5-2. Androsko pitched six innings, giving up one run on four hits while striking out five. RF Ed Montague went 2-for-3 with two RBI for the Pelicans, while 1B Tim Dorn also had two hits. SS Enohel Polanco provided all of the Sports' offense, driving in 1B Todd Self with an RBI single in the fourth and hitting a solo home run in the ninth.
