Wichita 10, Amarillo 9
The Wingnuts trailed 7-0 in the middle of the third inning, but rallied to earn a matinee win at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium. 1B Taylor Oldham hit a bases-clearing double in the third inning to cut the deficit to three runs, and RF Brent Clevlen added RBI singles in the fifth and seventh. The tying and go-ahead runs scored on a two-run home run by DH Andy LaRoche.
LaRoche was one of five Wingnuts with a multi-hit game. Clevlen had four hits on the game and CF Nick Van Stratten had three.
RHP Daniel Bennett tossed a scoreless seventh inning to earn the win, and the save went to RHP Paul Smyth.
Joplin 7, Lincoln 4
In front of a crowd of 5, 302 at Haymarket Park, the visiting Joplin Blasters played the spoiler role. 3B Jairo Perez hit a solo home run, and later in the inning, RF Jesus Solorzano hit a three-run blast to give the Blasters the lead. Two more runs came across in the ninth, including a solo home run by C Mason Morioka.
Perez, Solorzano and LF Steve Tinoco had two hits each for Joplin in the win. SS Mike Gilmartin and RF Tucker White had two hits each for Lincoln.
RHP Josh Evans struck out four in 5.2 innings of work for the win. The save went to RHP Winston Abreu for a scoreless ninth.
