Lincoln 6, Amarillo 4
The Lincoln Saltdogs got on the board in the third inning but most of the action took place in the fifth as they answered a four-run rally by the Amarillo Sox with a five-run rally on their way to a 6-4 win.
In the top of the fifth, 3B Travis Weaver opened up the scoring with a bases-loaded single. Weaver scored with C Jeff Farnham on a LF Derek Perren single and Perren scored on a single from 1B Joe Weik. Perren's two RBI lead the team and Weik was one of two Sox to have two hits. In the bottom of the inning RF Brian Joynt singled with the bases loaded to score a pair of runs and in the next at bat 1B Ian Gac hit a three-run home run. Gac also had a double in the game. Lincoln would hold that lead as neither team scored again.
Starting pitcher Marquis Fleming picked up the win and reliever Marshall Schuler earned the save.
Laredo 3, Wichita 1
Despite falling behind in the first inning, the Laredo Lemurs topped the Wichita Wingnuts 3-1 on Wednesday night.
The Wingnuts scored their only run of the game in the bottom of the first inning when leadoff man SS Ryan Khoury singled and then 3B Chris McClendon doubled him home. The Lemurs then made 27 consecutive outs without allowing a run. Laredo took the lead in the third inning when 2B Travis Denker singled in a run and then LF J.P. Ramirez scored on the next play. Denker, who was 2-for-2 on the night, scored an insurance run in the sixth on a sacrifice fly from C Carlos Ramirez.
On the bump for the Lemurs, starer Cesar Carrillo went six innings and allowed one run on five hits to earn the win. Reliever Chad Povich garnered his 12th save of the year.
Sioux City 5, Gary SouthShore 4
The Sioux City Explorers edged in front of the Gary SouthShore RailCats in the sixth inning and held on for a 5-4 win.
The RailCats scored first in the third inning with a pair of runs and scored another pair of runs in the sixth after the Explorers tied things up in the fifth. The Explorers took control in the sixth and never looked back. Four different Explorers had two-hit games including 1B Rene Tosoni who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. CF Tim Colwell also went 2-for-3 with a run scored.
For the RailCats, RF Drew Martinez went 3-for-5 to lead the team and both CF Drew Muren and LF Cody Bishop went 2-for-4. Reliever Chris Bodishbaugh picked up his ninth save of the year and his 41st in his career in the American Association.

The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks racked up 11 runs on 11 hits as they handled the Winnipeg Goldeyes 11-2.
The RedHawks scored all 11 of their runs in the first five innings and scored five runs in the third inning alone. Seven of the nine batters in the RedHawks batting order had at least one hit in the game and three of them had multi-hit games. CF Nic Jackson had a team hit three hits for the RedHawks and 2B C.J. Retherford went 2-for-3 with three RBI and a pair of runs scored. DH Sawyer Carroll went 2-for-3 with four RBI. For the Goldeyes, 3B Jake Blackwood and C Jorda Guida each had two-hit games.

Grand Prairie 7, Kansas City 3
The Grand Prairie AirHogs put up five quick runs in the first inning and never trailed on their way to a 7-3 win over the Kansas City T-Bones.
DH Jason Botts kick-started things for the AirHogs as he belted a three-run home run in the top of the first inning. C Brian Peterson hit a two-run home run of his own later in the inning to put the AirHogs ahead 5-0. Both Botts and Peterson had two-hit games for Grand Prairie - only 3B Abel Nieves had more hits as he went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored.
