St. Paul 14, Winnipeg 1
The St. Paul Saints racked up 17 hits on the way on to out-pacing the Winnipeg Goldeyes 14-1. All nine batters in the Saints order registered a hit led by 2B Adam Frost's 3-for-4 performance. Frost scored three runs as well. DH Donald Blunt homered twice in the game for a game-high five RBI. 1B Brian Burgamy also left the yard in the contest as he went 2-for-5 with three RBI.
With an 8-1 in the bottom of the eighth the Saints removed all doubt by posting six more runs. Starter Mark Hamburger was strong on the mound for the Saints as he went nine innings and allowed just one run on five hits while striking out six batters.
Rockland 7, Kansas City 5
The Rockland Boulders broke a tie in the top of the eighth to take an inter-league affair 7-5 from the Kansas City T-Bones. RF Jerod Edmonson, who was one of five Boulders to have two hits, singled in a run in the eighth to break the 5-5 tie. CF Donnie Webb scored unearned later in the inning. 3B Stephen Cardullo also registered an RBI for the Boulders.
For the T-Bones, CF Joey Gathright posted three hits in four at bats and added an RBI and a run. Reliever Fray Martinez picked up the win for working a scoreless eighth inning on the mound an Kevin Fuqua picked up his 18th save of the season.
