It was all St. Paul in this one as the Saints scored seven runs in the bottom of the second inning to run out to a 7-0 lead and would cruise from there to beat Fort Worth handily at Midway Stadium. The American Association Championship Series is now tied at a game apiece with game three in Fort Worth on Thursday night. 1B Fernando Valenzuela, Jr. led the way offensively for St. Paul as he went 2-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored and four RBI. Valenzuela, Jr. also hammered his second home run of the playoffs as well for the Saints. St. Paul starting pitcher Justin Lord moved his record to 2-0 in the postseason as he pitched seven solid innings allowing only one earned run on eight hits with a strikeout. For Fort Worth, 2B KJ Hendricks and SS Marc Mirizzi each had 3-for-5 nights at the dish with both driving in a run. Game three is set to begin Thursday at 7:05 PM at LaGrave Field. Alec Shepherd takes the hill for St. Paul while Lee Gwaltney goes for the Cats.
