
Ambush Drop a Tough One to Milwaukee

St. Louis Ambush News Release
St. Charles, Missouri - The St. Louis Ambush fell 3-2 to the Milwaukee Wave Friday night at The Family Arena. The loss dropped the Ambush to 7-11-2 on the season, while Milwaukee improved to 7-11-1.
St. Louis got on the board first when Jeff Michaud scored off a pass from Mohamed Ndiaye in the fifth minute of the match. Milwaukee knotted the game at one with less than three minutes remaining in the first period when Tyler Turner found the back of the net.
The second quarter was scoreless until Gordy Gurson scored on a restart with just eight seconds on the clock to give the Wave a 2-1 lead at halftime.
Milwaukee extended their lead to 3-1 when Ian Bennett scored in the seventh minute of the third frame.
At 10:29 of the fourth quarter, Milwaukee's Alex Bradley earned a blue card for tripping, resulting in a penalty kick for St. Louis. JT Thomas made good on the opportunity, shrinking the deficit to one (3-2). The comeback effort would prove to be insufficient as the Wave held on until the final buzzer to nail down the win.
Joey Kapinos was the star of game in goal for Milwaukee, posting an incredible .944 save percentage. Despite the loss, Pollo Cortes turned in a superb performance for St. Louis with an .850 save percentage.
Action now shifts to Milwaukee, where the two teams go at it again Sunday at 1:05 p.m. CDT a the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena. Following Sunday's duel in Milwaukee, the Ambush have three regular season games remaining, all against the Kansas City Comets, who have already clinched a playoff spot and are likely to win the Central Division laurels. On Saturday, March 26, the Ambush and Comets will square off at the Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence. On Saturday, April 2, the two teams clash again at The Family Arena in the regular season home finale for the Ambush. The regular season concludes for both teams when they meet at Cable Dahmer on Sunday April 3.
