
Ambassadors to Host Russian National Team

Allentown, PA Â The Allentown Ambassadors will play an exhibition game against the Russian National team this May, team officials announced today.
The Russian team is organized by the Russian baseball federation and will include the best players in Russia. This will be the fourth trip to the United States for the Russian National team. Two years ago they went 2-6 in a series of games against Northern League opponents. Then twenty-year-old right-handed pitcher Oleg Korneev signed with the Seattle Mariners following that tour. The Russians will play five games in four days against Northeast League opponents, including their final game against the Ambassadors at Bicentennial Park on Sunday, May 18th at 2:05. The Ambassadors will be holding open tryouts May 3rd at 9 A.M. at Bicentennial Park. Participants need to bring their gear and $30. The Ambassadors¹ season begins with the home opener on May 22nd at 7:05 against the Bangor Lumberjacks.
