Ambassadors Acquire Rich, Season Opens Tomorrow

The Allentown Ambassadors acquired retired All-Star Billy Rich in a trade with the New Jersey Jackals, team officials announced today.

Rich, 26, hit .342 with 8 home runs and 63 RBI for the Jackals last season. If the Ambassadors can lure him out of retirement, the team will owe the Jackals future considerations. If Rich comes out of retirement to play for a team other than the Ambassadors, he will be the future considerations and be traded back to the Jackals. For now, he is on the inactive list.

The Ambassadors' season opener is tomorrow night at 7:05 against the Bangor Lumberjacks. The first 1000 fans will get a magnetic schedule. For tickets or any other information, please call (610) 437-6800.
