
Amarillo Dusters Enter Final Stretch of Exciting Season

AMARILLO, Texas - The Amarillo Dusters celebrated the successful first half of the season marking the team's fourth year as an af2 team in the Amarillo area. The Dusters are 3-1 at home this season, having a better home record in 2008 than the last two seasons.
Attendance for home games at the Amarillo Civic Center Arena has also increased in 2008 for the first half of the season. The Dusters games have been pack with high-energy performances from both players and outside performers.
"We believe that it's important to be involved in the community," said Dusters vice president, Joe Morgado, "Our goal is to provide our fans with great football and exciting entertainment for the entire family. I believe that we've shown in the first half of the season that we're dedicated to doing that."
The team has enjoyed support for this season from local business partners such as Amarillo National Bank, Farmer's Insurance, and Street Toyota. Team management stressed the value of local business and investor participation.
"The Amarillo Dusters are a part of the Amarillo community and having local ownership and business involvement is critical to ensuring that the team reflects the values and flavor of Amarillo," said Doug MacGregor, Texas af2 Holdings LLC President, "Our goal continues to be one of providing a team that the Amarillo community can be proud of, both on and off the field."
"Being a sponsor for the team has been really good for us," said district manager for Farmer's Insurance, Jeff Ivy. "It gives the feel of wanting the Amarillo community to grow and prosper, and gives that excitement and enthusiasm for a local team that is performing well."
