Amarillo Bulls News Release

AMARILLO, TX - Two Amarillo Bulls Alumni will be heading to NHL Summer Development Camps over the next few months.

For the second straight year, Hampus Gustafsson will head to a camp, this time with the Buffalo Sabres. Gustafsson, who participated in the Detroit Red Wings development camp in 2014, finished second on the Warriors in scoring this past season, posting 25 points (11 goals, 14 assists) in 38 games. Gustafsson more than doubled his point production from his freshman season, when he tallied 10 points (4 goals, 6 assists) in 33 games. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound center was also one of best faceoff players in the nation.

Goaltender Collin Delia will be taking part in the Toronto Maple Leafs Development Camp. Delia, who hails from California, posted a 4-4 record in nine games with 1.86 GAA and a .938 save percentage at Merrimack College in his freshman season. Delia notched back-to-back wins over Clarkson, including a shutout. In those four wins he allowed just four goals.

FIRST CAMP NEXT WEEKEND

The Amarillo Bulls are gearing up for their first tryout camp of the summer. The Midwest Pre-Draft Camp will be held at the Ozaukee Ice Center in Mequon, Wisconsin from May 29-31. The goaltender portion of the camp is now full but there is still time for forward and defenseman to participate.

The tryout camps are an excellent way for the Bulls to gage talent not only for this year's team but future ones. It will also help the coaching and scouting staff with information for the upcoming North American Hockey League Draft.

DRAFT DAY

Former Team Captain Mike Davis was a top pick in the opening round for the Amarillo Bulls in the North American Hockey League Draft. The Bulls Coaching and Scouting Staff are hopeful that they can find the same type of talented players when they make their first pick on Tuesday, June 9 in the NAHL Draft. The Bulls will have the fifth selection in the first round. The draft will be live on www.nahldraft.com and broadcast live on Fast Hockey. Amateur players less than 21 years of age on December 31, 2015 who are not listed on an NAHL team roster or are listed on an NAHL team roster but played less than (10) NAHL regular season and/or playoff games during the 2014-15 season and did not accept a tender from an NAHL team prior to the 2015 NAHL Entry Draft are eligible for selection in the draft.

The number of players each team is able to draft varies on that team's current roster (protected list) minus the number 30. Each team's roster is comprised of veteran players and signed tenders only. For example, if a team has 15 veterans rostered and 8 tenders (23 total), that team is allowed seven (7) draft picks.
