AMARILLO, TX - The Amarillo Bulls had their eight game winning streak snapped on Saturday night at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center.

Two Bulls' miscues led to two Corpus Christi IceRays' goals and a 2-1 setback in front of a crowd of more than 2,700.

Gage Christianson had the lone goal for Amarillo in the second period.

The fans will remember the end of the game rather than a less than terrific outing by their Bulls. There was a fight at the eend of the game and some heated words by both teams was the only blemish that was otherwise a clean game.

"They were the better hockey team," said Bulls Head Coach Dennis Williams. "We didn't execute, and play well. Our passing was off and I think the guys took it for granted. It was disappointing. Our front office staff did a great job bringing out this big crowd. Our guys just didn't perform and we will learn from this and head back to the drawing board tomorrow."

It was the third straight series between the two teams where the Bulls were able to capture the first game but unable to close out the second one.

There were just 14 total shots in the first period between the two teams. The IceRays broke the shutout string of Paul Berrafato that lasted just over 73 minutes. But the Bulls were able to pull even at the 14:48 mark when Gage Christianson put his shot upstairs on goaltender Ben Myers. TJ Sherman who set up the play with a shot towards the net and, Ryan Cole assisted on the play.

It was a tough second period for the Amarillo Bulls as they struggled to make crisp passes and generate much offense. The IceRays took a 2-1 lead on a breakaway goal, but after that the Bulls out-chanced their opponents.

The Bulls dominated the final 20 minutes and had some grade 'A' scoring opportunities but were denied by goaltender Ben Myers.

The final shots on the game favored Amarillo 31-22 including 23-16 over the final 40 minutes.
