AMARILLO, TX - An Amarillo Bulls Alumni and member of the 2013 National Championship Team has become the 2nd player to sign with a National Hockey League team.

Collin Delia will forgo his senior season at Merrimack College after inking an entry-level contract with the Chicago Blackhawks this past Friday. Delia's teammate with the Bulls and at Merrimack, Hampus Gustafsson signed a late season deal last year with the Washington Capitals and reported to their American Hockey League Affiliate.

Delia, 23, attended Chicago's prospect development camp last week and was also an attendee at Chicago's camp last summer. Delia will report to training camp with the Blackhawks in September, and will most likely be part of the team's rookie team that heads to a prospect tournament in Traverse City Michigan (North of Detroit).

"We're very happy for Collin and wish him nothing but the best as he pursues his dream of playing in the NHL," said Merrimack College Head Coach Mark Dennehy. "He embodied everything that a true Merrimack Warrior should be and we look forward to watching his career unfold."

Delia played for the Amarillo Bulls from 2012-14 where he helped the team capture the Robertson Cup title during the 2012-13 season, and during 2013-14 he was honored as the NAHL's Community Service Award winner. Delia played in 50 career NAHL regular season games during his tenure and posted a record of 33-9-2 with 10 shutouts.

The Rancho Cucamonga, California, native wraps up his NCAA career with a 21-24-10 record in net to go along with a 2.48 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage. He ranks fifth in the Division I era in career wins and career GAA, while his 2.15 GAA and .927 save percentage figures that were both set last season are the second-best in single-season history since the program joined Division I.

Delia was named a Hockey East Third Team All-Star and was a New England Hockey Writers Association All-Star last spring after putting together one of the program's best goaltending campaigns. After missing a stretch of 11 straight games due to injury early in the season, Delia returned in mid-November and proceeded to put up the best goaltending figures of his career, finishing 9-8-3 in 21 starts/appearances to go alongside a 2.15 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage. He finished the season ranked 14th nationally in goals-against average and ninth in save percentage.

In 14 league games, Delia posted the top save percentage (.928) and third-best goals-against average (2.21) while owning the third-best win percentage (7-3-3, .654) amongst all conference goaltenders over the course of the league's 22-game regular season schedule. He did so despite missing nearly a half of the league season and was still able to surpass the minimum 40-percent of minutes played threshold to qualify for the league leader boards, demonstrating just how solid of a year he had between the posts.

The best way to enjoy the 8th season of Amarillo Bulls hockey is to purchase either Full or Half Season Tickets as well as 10 Game Flex Packs. The Bulls offer a wide variety of price points and payment options that are easy on all fans budgets.
