AMARILLO, TEXAS- The Amarillo Dusters hosted the number one ranked Tulsa Talons this Saturday at the Amarillo Civic Center Arena. The Dusters would hand the Talons their second loss of the season with a final score of 48-33.

The Talons started the march down the field in the first series of the game, but a Dusters pick by DB Terick Thomas stopped the drive. The Dusters took advantage of the turnover as QB Julian Reese handed the ball off to WR Craig Fulton, Jr. for the touchdown at the goal line. The Dusters would have the only score of the first quarter.

Scoring by both teams picked up quickly in the second quarter.

The quarter began with a failed field goal attempt by Dusters kicker Jacob Felton. The Talons followed with their first score of the game with a 13-yard pass by Talons QB Derek Rasmussen to Anthony Bolden. The Dusters answered with an 18-yard field goal by kicker Jacob Felton. An impressive 28-yard touchdown pass on the first play of the following possession from Talons QB Derek Rasmussen to WR Jeff Hughley would give Tulsa their first lead of the game. Amarillo immediately reclaimed the lead with a 28-yard pass from QB Julian Reese to WR Jim Lukowiak. Another touchdown by each team would make the score 24-20, with Amarillo holding on to a slim lead going into halftime.

Dusters kick returner Craig Fulton, Jr. ran back the opening kickoff all the way to the endzone, but a holding call brought the ball back. The Dusters settled with another 18-yard field goal by kicker Jacob Felton. Talons kick returner Jeff Hughley would run the kickoff the length of the field for a touchdown, but a missed extra point kept the Dusters in the lead by a point. Dusters QB Julian Reese connected once again with WR Jim Lukowiak on a 15-yard touchdown pass. Tulsa would not score again in the third.

It was all about the defense in the fourth quarter. Dusters DB Terick Thomas tipped a pass on a fourth down to prevent a Talons touchdown. The Talons defense answered back, holding the Dusters on a fourth down to get the ball back. Amarillo held the Talons again to get the ball back and Craig Fulton, Jr. punched the ball in for another Dusters touchdown. Each team would go on to score one more time before time expired.
