Altitude Teams up with Building Bridges to Celebrate Legacies of Dr. King

Asheville, N.C., January 15, 2004 - In cooperation with the local Martin Luther King, Jr. Association and Building Bridges, the Asheville Altitude presents the "King Legacy Game", Monday, Jan. 19 at the Asheville Civic Center. The Altitude will face the Roanoke Dazzle in an exciting NBDL match-up, with a special tip-off time of 1:00 p.m.

In recognition of Asheville' s 23rd Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration, all tickets for the "King Legacy Game", except for floor seats, will be specially priced at $9. In addition, for each $9 ticket sold to the "King Legacy Game", the Altitude will donate $2 to Building Bridges. There will also be in-game presentations that recognize Dr. King's legacy.

Building Bridges is a local organization in the Western North Carolina community committed to overcoming racism by promoting understanding and awareness of diversity through education and support. They have successfully completed 13 sessions, involving more than 1,000 participants across the area.

Tickets can be purchased by calling the Asheville Altitude at (828) 782-1000 or visiting the Altitude or Civic Center Box Office or online at Ticketmaster.com. Tickets are still available in the upper and lower bowl seating sections and discounts are available for groups of 15 or more and for children under 3.
