
Alouettes Prepare for 2003

Montreal, December 13, 2002 - Montreal Alouettes' General Manager Jim Popp is already planning for next season. He announced today that running back Derek Homer and defensive end Bryant Geathers will be invited to training camp.
Homer (5'10'', 198 lbs.) was on the Alouettes' practice roster for part of the 2002 season. Before joining the Alouettes, Homer played with NFL Europe's Barcelona Dragons. He completed the 2002 season with 77 rushes on 328 yards and two touchdowns and caught 21 passes for gains of 218 yards. Homer attended the NFL Baltimore Ravens training camp.
Geathers (6'6'', 280 lbs.) is a 22-year-old defensive end. He played for the University of South Carolina State where he made 31 defensive tackles and three quarterback sacks in the 2000 and 2001 seasons.
Both players signed one-year deals plus an option.
