
Alley Cats Wrap Up Road Trip with a Loss

Albany, NY (March 6, 2007) - The Albany Patroons beat the Indiana Alley Cats for the third time in seven days this evening, 123-113. The loss concluded a road trip that was not kind to the Alley Cats. They finished 0-4 on the trip and fell to .500 on the season (20-20).
The two teams were tied at the end of the first quarter at 34 apiece. The Patroons (24-14) were able to pick up the victory in the second and establish a 60-56 lead into the half. The leading scorers at halftime were Indiana's Carl Edwards and Albany's Kareem Reid, both of whom had 20. The Alley Cats climbed to within two points with 2:30 to go in the third, but Albany closed out the quarter on an 11-4 run and took a nine point lead into the fourth. The Patroons squeaked out a one point victory at the end of the fourth quarter.
Carl Edwards paced the Alley Cats with a game-high 33 points. Murray added 26 points and 8 rebounds. Chandler Thompson shot 10 of 17 from the field and finished with 24 points. Shaun Fountain, the reigning CBA Player of the Week, ended up with 19 points and 6 assists. Chris Garnett just missed a double-double (8 points and 8 rebounds). The five starters for Indiana accounted for 97% of their points. They were outscored on the bench by Albany, 63-3.
Reid led the Patroons with 30 points and 7 assists. Jamario Moon came off the bench to score 21 points and grab 5 rebounds. Felipe Lopez contributed 19 points and 6 rebounds. John Strickland tallied 18 points and 7 rebounds, while Carl Mitchell finished with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Albany shot a sizzling 59% from the field.
The Alley Cats will return home to host the Pittsburgh Xplosion this weekend. Tip off for Friday night's game is 7:00 with Sunday's action beginning at 3:00.
