Alley Cats' Winning Streak Snapped

Anderson, IN (January 19, 2007) - The Indiana Alley Cats started out sluggish and weren't able to find their rhythm until it was too late. The Yakama Sun Kings put an end Indiana's eight game winning streak, 103-98. The Alley Cats only picked up one quarter point in the game. Indiana dropped to 13-9 on the season.

The Sun Kings came out hot and quickly built a 32-23 lead after one quarter of play. They also won the second quarter and took a 53-41 lead into the half. Yakama continued to dominate as they built their lead up to 24 points midway through the third quarter. They won the third quarter and had a 17 point lead going into the fourth. The Alley Cats weren't able to give up. They applied a full court trap that caused some troubles for the Sun Kings. Indiana wasn't able to get any closer than four points though. Thanks to a 34-22 advantage in the final quarter, the Alley Cats were able to take home a quarter point.

J.J. Sullinger led Indiana with 23 points. Shaun Fountain 22 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 steals. Carl Edwards had 20 points, but struggled from the field shooting only 5 for 16. Erick Barkley had 18 points and 4 rebounds, while Will Caudle had 13 points and a team-high 8 rebounds. The Alley Cats were able to force 32 turnovers on the Sun Kings.

Galen Young paced Yakama with 23 points, 13 rebounds, and 5 assists. Elvin Mims tallied 20 points and Greg Stevenson added 18. Chris Alexander had 10 points and 8 rebounds. Rocky Walls had a game-high 10 rebounds. The Sun Kings improve to 17-6 on the season with the victory.

The same two teams will meet again on Sunday afternoon at 3:00.
