Alley Cats Rally Past the Daredevils

Anderson, IN (February 18, 2007) - The Indiana Alley Cats rallied past the Butte Daredevils this afternoon, 135-126. The Alley Cats picked up six quarter points in the victory and improved to 18-15 on the season.

The Alley Cats started strong and were able to grab a 40-26 lead after the first quarter. They had the game in hand during the second quarter until about the five minute mark. From there, Butte went on a 19-point run to take a one point lead at the half. Indiana looked like a different team in the second half as they came out and took charge to win both quarters in the half.

Carl Edwards once again paced the Alley Cats with 39 points and 7 rebounds. Shaun Fountain tallied 28 points, 5 rebounds, and 8 assists. Erick Barkley barely missed a double-double for the second time in as many days (18 points and 9 assists). DeAndre Walker had one of his better games of the season, finishing with 18 points and a team-high 9 rebounds. Chandler Thompson had 12 points, but struggled from the field, shooting only 4 of 11. Chris Garnett rounded out the Indiana players in double figures with 11 points. The Alley Cats shot 59% from the field, including 40% from beyond the arc.

Odartey Blankson led seven Butte players in double figures with 22 points. John Millsap added 20, while Odell Bradley had 16 points and 6 assists. Anthony Richardson, Nick VanderLaan, and Ronald Ross all ended up with 15 points on the afternoon. The Daredevils turned the ball over 20 times. They fell to 16-17 on the season.

The Alley Cats will host the division-leading Albany Patroons on Tuesday night at the Wigwam. Tip off is set for 7:00. Indiana Alley Cats season tickets and single game tickets are currently on sale.
