
Alley Cats Hold on in Overtime

Anderson, IN (February 25, 2007) - The Indiana Alley Cats blew a 24 point lead with just over three minutes to play in the third quarter, but were able to come back to beat the Great Falls Explorers in overtime, 108-107. The Alley Cats picked up 5.5 quarter points in the victory and improved to 20-16 on the season.
The two teams were tied at the end of the first quarter at 26 apiece. Indiana won the second quarter and took a 62-57 into the half. The Alley Cats came out on fire in the third quarter and had a 19 point lead going into the final quarter of play. Great Falls held Indiana to only 13 fourth quarter points and tied the game on two free throws by Malik Moore with two seconds to go. Chandler Thompson missed a potential game-winner at the buzzer. In overtime, the Alley Cats trailed by one with 14 seconds left when Shaun Fountain forced a turnover on Moore to give the ball back to the Alley Cats. Chandler executed a perfect alley-oop pass to Carl Edwards for the go-ahead basket with five seconds to go. Explorers guard Keith Salscheider threw the ball away with three seconds to go and Indiana was able to keep from getting fouled, which ended the game.
Edwards led the Alley Cats for the fifth straight game with 25 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists. Romuald Augustine had a double-double (11 points and a game-high 14 rebounds). Thompson also had a double-double (19 points and 11 rebounds), but struggled from the field, shooting only 7 of 22. Fountain's shooting was also off, but he was able to have a good all-around game, finishing just shy of a triple-double with 11 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists. With Chris Garnett out due to an injury, Will Caudle stepped up with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Eric Walton added 13 points for the Alley Cats.
Jamar Howard paced the Explorers with 24 points and 6 rebounds. Jovan Harris came off the bench and was on fire in the second half. He ended up with 20 points in only 27 minutes, thanks to 8 of 10 shooting. Moore had another good game. He just missed a triple-double (15 points, 7 rebounds, and 10 assists). Salscheider tallied 16 points, while former Alley Cat Paul McMillan had 11 against his former team. Travis Garrison grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds. The Explorers fell to 20-16 on the season.
The Alley Cats will travel to Albany to begin a four game road trip. The two teams are set to play Wednesday and Friday night. Tip off for both games is set for 7:35 EST.
