Alley Cats Handle the Daredevils

Anderson, IN (January 27, 2007) - The Indiana Alley Cats overcame an early deficit and went on to beat the Butte Daredevils handily, 111-89. The win strengthens their hold on second place in the conference and climbed to within .18 quarter points per game of first place. It was also their tenth win in eleven games. The Alley Cats picked up six quarter points in the game and improved to 15-9 on the season.

The Daredevils started out strong, taking a 32-27 lead at the end of one quarter of play. The Alley Cats came out hot in the second quarter and took a 57-49 lead into the half. The Alley Cats were also able to dominate the third quarter and had an nineteen point advantage going into the final quarter of play. Indiana was able to hold onto win the fourth quarter by three.

J.J. Sullinger led seven Indiana players in double figures with a team-high 21 points and 10 rebounds. Shaun Fountain added 19 points and 5 assists. Carl Edwards tallied 19 points, while Erick Barkley contributed 14 points and 8 steals. Eric Walton (12), Chris Garnett (10), and Romuald Augustine (10) rounded out the Alley Cats in double figures. The Alley Cats forced 28 turnovers on Butte.

Anthony Richardson paced the Daredevils with 16 points. Odell Bradley had 15 points, while Nick VanderLaan posted a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Ronald Ross finished with 12 points and Carl Boyd had 11 for Butte. The Daredevils fell to 9-12 on the season.

The same two teams will square off tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 in the final game of the series.
