
Alley Cats Fall to the Xplosion for the Second Game in a Row

Anderson, IN (March 10, 2007) - The Indiana Alley Cats fell for the second time in six days to the Pittsburgh Xplosion last night, 109-102. Indiana was only able to pick up one quarter point in the game.
The Xplosion came out strong and claimed a 31-25 lead after one quarter of play. The two teams tied in the second quarter, as the Alley Cats went into the half trailing 53-47. Indiana's Josh Murray led all scorers at the break with 17 points, while Rob Griffin and Greg Jenkins each had 11 for Pittsburgh. Each team scored 31 points in the third quarter, before the Xplosion edged the Alley Cats in the fourth quarter by one point. The story of the game came at the free throw line, where Indiana shot only 60% and Pittsburgh connected on 82%.
Murray was the Alley Cats' leading scorer with 28 points to go along with his 7 rebounds. Shaun Fountain contributed 21 points, 4 assists, and 3 steals. Chandler Thompson recorded a double-double, finishing with 15 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists. Carl Edwards wound up with 11 points, despite being saddled by foul trouble throughout the entire game.
Griffin led six Pittsburgh players in double figures with 28 points and 9 assists. Lewis Monroe had a great all-around game with 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists. Corey Minnifield had 21 points as well as 7 rebounds. Lawrence Baker added 11 points and a team-high 9 rebounds.
