Alley Cats Come Up Short Against the Skyrockets

Minot, ND (February 3, 2007) - The Indiana Alley Cats came up short against the Minot Skyrockets, 117-103. Indiana was only able to pick up one quarter point in the loss. Indiana fell to 16-13 on the season.

Minot edged Indiana in the first quarter 26-25. The Skyrockets continued to stay hot, winning the second quarter and taking a 57-51 lead into the break. Chris Garnett had an outstanding half for the Alley Cats, leading them with 15 first half points. Desmond Ferguson was Minot's leading scorer with 11 in the half. The Alley Cats came back to win the third quarter and tie the game at 81 going into the final quarter of play. Minot dominated the fourth quarter and went on to win the game by fourteen.

Despite the loss, Erick Barkley had a huge game for the Alley Cats. He ended up with 34 points and 4 assists. Garnett had his best game of the season, finishing with 25 points and 8 rebounds. Carl Edwards added 17 points, while J.J. Sullinger tallied 11 points and a team-high 9 rebounds. The Alley Cats forced 24 Skyrockets turnovers.

Ferguson paced Minot with 24 points. Ray Cunningham had a double-double (20 points and 11 rebounds). David Harrison contributed 17 points and 9 rebounds. Minot's bench outscored Indiana's, 50-19. The Skyrockets also out-rebounded the Alley Cats, 43-35. Minot improved to 17-11 on the year.

The Alley Cats will have a few days off for the All-Star break. On Thursday, they will host the division-leading Albany Patroons at 7:00 at the Wigwam.
