Allen's Marco Cousineau Named Sher-Wood/CHL Goaltender of the Month

December 1, 2011 - Central Hockey League (CHL) News Release

GLENDALE, AZ (December 1, 2011) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Allen's Marco Cousineau has been named the Sher-Wood Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Month for November/2011. Cousineau will receive a Sher-Wood/CHL logoed watch courtesy of Sher-Wood and the Central Hockey League to recognize his accomplishment.

The former NHL third round draft selection has recently been assigned to the Americans from Anaheim and has made an immediate impact. Already a weekly award winner, the St.Lazare, Quebec native had a 5-0-1 record during the month of November allowing just 13 total goals. In addition, Cousineau leads the league with his 2.15 goals against average and a .939 save percentage.

The second-year pro has over 30 saves in every single game played and has allowed two goals or fewer in four og his six appearances. His strong play has helped the Americans push for the lead in the Berry Conference with a 9-3-3 record, sitting only one point shy of first place.

Other goaltenders receiving consideration for the monthly award for November include Arizona's Scott Reid, Dayton's Bryan Hogan, Evansville's Bryan Gillis, Fort Wayne's Nick Boucher, Quad City's Brad Fogal, Rio Grande Valley's John Murray, Texas' Steve Silverthorn, Tulsa's Ian Keserich and Wichita's Adam Russo.
