
Allen Wranglers fall to Amarillo Venom

ALLEN, TX-The Wranglers fell victim to the final countdown Saturday night as they lost to the Amarillo Venom 33-36.
The Wranglers were up by four with just seconds left in the fourth quarter when Venom quarterback Sherard Ellis threw a touchdown pass to receiver Anthony Clark. The loss puts the Wranglers at 8-4 on the season with two losses in the Lonestar Division.
After an 0-9 drought for the Venom, Amarillo is on a two-game winning streak after defeating the Bricktown Brawlers last week.
Bobby Chase led the Wranglers in receiving with nine catches for 89 yards. Dedrick Poole also had a big night for the Wranglers with 66 yards receiving. Wrangler QB Kewan Dewberry threw for 184 yards with just one interception.
The Wranglers head into a bye week and are set to face Colorado on June 4th. The Amarillo Venom will travel to Arizona to take on the Adrenaline on Saturday, May 28th. The Wranglers will play two more regular season games before heading into the playoffs on June 18th.
