FORT MYERS, FL (July 15, 2009) - The Fort Myers Miracle announced today that infielder Steve Singleton has been promoted to Double-A New Britain. The Oakland, California native will be with the Rock Cats when they resume play on Thursday.
The Florida State League All-Star second baseman was hitting .269 with five home runs and 39 RBI. He hit a combined .298 with 11 homers and 57 RBIs in 127 games for Beloit and Fort Myers in 2008.
The 23-year old was an 11th round draft pick of the Minnesota Twins in 2006.
The Miracle open a three-game road series tonight in Sarasota beginning at 7:05 p.m. They return to Hammond Stadium on Saturday, July 18 for a four-game series with Dunedin.
