Texas Wildcatters News Release

BEAUMONT, TX (May 12, 2004) – Texas Wildcatters Head Coach Robert Dirk announced today the Wildcatters and All-Star forward John Snowden have agreed to terms for the 2004-05 season. As per club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 22-year-old Snowden represented the Wildcatters and the Western Conference All-Stars at the 2004 Par-A-Dice ECHL All-Star Game in Peoria, IL. In his first professional season, the Snohomish, WA native finished the year tied for the team lead in goals (22) and was third in team points (43). Snowden was the only Texas player to appear in all 72 Wildcatters' games and led all ECHL rookies in shots on goal with 247.

"I'm really happy that I was able to re-sign with Texas after having a great rookie season," said Snowden. "If I'm playing in the ECHL, I want to play for the Wildcatters; I love the team, the coach and the area."

"John came into the season as an unknown and quickly established himself in the league," said Dirk. Snowden was named C&T Hockey Products ECHL Plus Performer of the Month for November. He had a streak of 16 consecutive games from 10/23/03-12/5/03 in which he was a plus or even for the game.

The Wildcatters are counting on Snowden to be one of their core players in upcoming season. "He had a great first year and his second season should lead to more consistency and additional points, " added Dirk.

Season tickets for the 2004-05 season are now on sale. For as little as $50.00, you can reserve your seat for the second year of Wildcatters hockey in Southeast Texas.
