All-Star Game Has Southern Pedigree

MARIETTA, GA - When the major league superstars take the field tonight at U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago for the 74th Major League Baseball All-Star Game the Southern League will be well represented.  Twenty-four (24) players in tonight's All-Star game honed their skills in the Southern League en route to the big leagues including 13 players on the American League roster and 11 players on the National League roster.  Southern League graduates playing in the 2003 Major League All-Star Game include:
