All-SPHL Second Team Announced

HUNTERSVILLE, NC - The Southern Professional Hockey League on Thursday announced its 2015-2016 All-SPHL Second Team as selected in a vote of league coaches, general managers and media representatives.

F - Shawn Skelly, Macon Mayhem

F - Josh McQuade, Fayetteville FireAntz

F - Jake Hauswirth, Louisiana IceGators

D - Dave Pszenyczny, Peoria Rivermen

D - Stuart Stefan, Huntsville Havoc

G - Kyle Rank, Peoria Rivermen

Macon's Shawn Skelly tied for the league-lead with seven game-winning goals and eight power play goals, while finishing third in goals (28), points (63) and shots (251) and fourth in assists (35).

Fayetteville's Josh McQuade led all SPHL players with 44 assists, while finishing second in points (65) and fifth in plus/minus (+24).

Louisiana's Jake Hauswirth led the SPHL with 263 shots on goal, was fourth with 11 power play assists and tied for sixth in points (49). Hauswirth also had an SPHL season-high five-assist game against Peoria on February 12.

Peoria's Dave Pszenyczny led all defensemen with 11 goals and five power play goals (tied) despite playing only 36 games. Pszenyczny was also tied for third among blueliners with a +16 rating while his 27 points were fifth-best.

Huntsville's Stuart Stefan, making his third consecutive appearance on the All-SPHL Teams, was tied for third among defensemen with 23 assists while he ranked fourth with 29 points.

Peoria' Kyle Rank, also making his third consecutive appearance on the All-SPHL Teams, led all SPHL goaltenders with a 2.15 goals against average and was tied for second in both wins (21) and save percentage (.928)

The All-SPHL First Team will be announced later today.
