Alejandro Guido Named to USL Championship Team of the Week

San Diego, CA. - Midfielder Alejandro Guido was named to the USL Championship Team of the Week after helping SD Loyal to a come-from-behind 2-1 win against Sacramento Republic FC in a Week 25 match on Oct. 9.
Guido was the spark SD Loyal needed after falling behind in the 30th minute at home. Guido helped his team with a 54th minute goal and assisted in the game-winner by Douglas Martinez Jr. three minutes later. Guido was also roaming freely at midfield, often moving up to be part of the attack. He ¬â¹ ¬â¹finished the night with three shots and seven key passes while completing 34 of 36 passes overall.
The Chula Vista native now has five goals for SD Loyal this season as he has been a key contributor often filling in at different positions due to some injuries to starters at the midfield. Guido, who signed an extension with SD Loyal this past offseason, has played in 26 matches, starting in 17 while playing 1,573 minutes to date.
Guido was named USL Championship Player of the Week earlier this season. This is the 12th time this year that an SD Loyal player receives Team of the Week honors. SD Loyal has now had a player on this list in six of the last seven weeks as the team continues to vie for a playoff spot and heads into a home match against New Mexico United Sunday Oct. 17 at Torero Stadium.
