Albany Trades Brandon Walker to Nighthawks

March 28, 2012 - Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL) News Release

KNOXVILLE, TN (March 28, 2012) - On Wednesday, the Albany Panthers of the Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL) traded Offensive Lineman Brandon Walker to the Knoxville Nighthawks for future considerations.

Having started the first two games in Albany, Walker (6'3 320, Hampton) has been traded to the expansion Nighthawks squad on the verge of their inaugural home-opener taking place this Saturday against the Richmond Raiders.

Despite having one of the best passing offenses in the PIFL, through their first two games Knoxville leads the league in sacks given up (7) along with sporting the worst turnover margin (-7) while Albany returns all three members of their starting offensive line from their 2011 championship season.

"Brandon is a versatile player who helped us out on both sides of the ball," says Albany Panther General Manager Will Carter. "Unfortunately with some key players returning from last year's championship team we had to make a difficult decision for roster spots. We wish Brandon well in his future endeavors."

Both clubs will return to action this Saturday with the Nighthawks hosting the Richmond Raiders at 7:00 PM ET while the Panthers host the Louisiana Swashbucklers at 7:30 PM ET.
