Albany FireWolves Reveal New Uniform for the 2023-24 Season

ALBANY, NY - The Albany FireWolves of the National Lacrosse League (NLL), reveal a new uniform for their 2023-24 season. The uniform will feature and highlight indigenous markings , making the FireWolves the only team in the NLL to currently feature a season long uniform that showcases the indigenous history of the game .

The new uniform will feature symbolic indi genous markings that represent Haudenosaunee tattoos, sky domes and the Creator's Game Legend. The uniform will be the FireWolves home kit for the 2023 -24 season.

The uniform was designed and inspired by indigenous artist, Jordan Thompson.

"I wanted to show what I can do with helpi ng the Albany FireWolves organization show their appreciation for the Haudenosaunee culture." said Thomps on. "I was very honored to have been chosen to do the designs for the jersey. Having the honor to do the jersey design made the process easy. I was given the flexibility and creativity to help celebrate our culture and with the recognition and feedback I got, I feel like it was very successful."

FireWolves forward Marshall Powless who comes from the Mohawk Nation, Turtle Clan was excited to hear about and see the new look for the upcoming season. "I think this is great.", said Powless. "It is nice to see that the FireWolves are continuing to shed light to t he indigenous roots of the game and incorporating it wherever and whenever they can."

During the 2022-23 season, the FireWolves featured an indigenous themed jersey that was also designed by Jordan Thompson for their Indigenous Celebration game on March 4, 2023 against the Georgia Swarm.

"The FireWolves have always impressed me with how much commit ment they show to honoring Indigenous Peoples as we are the creators of the game." continued Powless. " I am really honored to be a part of an organization that is going to be leading the pack and paving the way for other teams to hopefully do the same!"

The FireWolves will feature the new black uniforms for the first time on Saturday, December 9 at 7:00pm for the Season 3 Premiere -Opening Night (Black Out) against the defending NLL Champion Buffalo Bandits at MVP Arena.

Fans are encouraged to wear black and the first 1,500 fans will receive a jersey rally towel that replicates the new look.
